Position Summary
Newton Country Day School seeks a passionate and encouraging Middle School Ice Hockey Coach to support the team during the winter 2026-2027 season. The coach will assist with teaching fundamentals, building confidence, and inspiring joy in the sport within a supportive, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Head Coach in all aspects of middle school practices and games, emphasizing skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship, while aligning with the broader ice hockey program.
Provide mentorship to student-athletes of varying skill levels, fostering courage, confidence, discipline, and personal growth.
Willingness and ability to drive school vehicles for practices and competitions.
Uphold and model the values of Sacred Heart education and the mission of Falcon Athletics, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all athletes.
Complete other related duties as requested by the Director of Athletics.
Preferred Qualifications
Playing or coaching experience in ice hockey.
A passion for developing young women through sport.
Enthusiasm for working with middle school students and developing foundational skills.
CPR/First Aid and SafeSport certifications (or willingness to complete prior to the season).
CORI background check and fingerprinting required.
