Stipend Range: $4,000-6,000
Position Summary
Newton Country Day School seeks a passionate and organized Varsity Ice Hockey Assistant Coach to work with the team during the winter 2026-27 season. The coach will be responsible for helping plan practices, develop players, and build a competitive, inclusive team culture that reflects the mission of Sacred Heart education and Falcon Athletics, all on our home ice of Daly Rink in Newton.
Position Requirements:
Assist with all aspects of Varsity Ice Hockey practices and games with a focus on fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship, in alignment with the program goals of the Varsity Coach.
Mentor student-athletes of varying skill levels, encouraging courage and confidence, discipline, and growth.
Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, and the Athletics Department.
Demonstrate willingness and ability to drive school vehicles for practices and competitions.
Uphold and model the values of Sacred Heart education and the mission of Falcon Athletics, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all athletes.
Embody the Athletics Department core principles of fielding programs that are fierce, formative, and fun while developing women of courage and confidence.
Complete other related duties as requested by the Director of Athletics.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience playing and coaching ice hockey.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
CPR/First Aid and SafeSport certifications (or willingness to complete prior to the season).
CORI background check and fingerprinting required.
